Garden Team

Mondays & Thursdays
10-5pm*
at Craigmillar Now

*Flexibility of shifts based on your availability

We have a peaceful garden space at Craigmillar Now which brings a lot of joy and inspiration to our community. As a garden volunteer you will be an essential part of caring for our green space with small tasks that make a big difference. Join us for a gentle potter with cups of tea and biscuits!

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Watering Planting

  • Dead heading

  • Litter pick up

  • Weeding

  • Sweeping / Raking

  • Compost laying

No prior experience needed. We provide garden tools, watering cans and disposable gloves but encourage volunteers to bring their own gloves and any equipment that helps with their accessibility.

The garden is a quiet and relaxed space which provides our volunteers some down-time to be present in our outdoor space.

Accessibility

There is a car park on site of Craigmillar Now and ramp access to the garden.

At present most of our flower beds are not wheelchair accessible and require volunteers to walk across unpaved surfaces to access plants. Garden tasks require lifting and bending but we will do our best to support volunteers if they wish to attend with accessibility requirements where possible.

Lunches

We host a free lunch for our volunteers and local community on Mondays 1-1:30pm. All welcome
